I purchased it for American Renaissance course and find the reading in it much easier than the Nortan Anthology. THis may be due to the later period for the various authors, so the English is more discernible and requires less teacher interpretation. I find it easy|About the Author|Paul Lauter is the Smith Professor of Literature at Trinity College. He has served as president of the American Studies Association and is a major figure in the revision of the American literary canon.
